TOM DIXON BICESTER The furniture throughout the store was formed from 1.5mm thick cold rolled steel. The process involved cutting and either rolling the seamless curves or straight folding the steel. All joins were welded and ground back to provide a smooth surface for the black crackle powder coated finish. The overall design included cylindrical posts either in a small or large set diameter, contrasting against the straight folded shelving and flat work tops. One of the main features of the concept was to produce adjustable furniture and shelving to allow the layouts to change depending on the product for sale. Photos by Ollie Hammick.
